Frequently Asked Questions

• What if my child is younger than 6?

  We have taught many 4 and 5 year old children over the years and have had great success! Often younger kids have not yet acquired the apprehension of doing something for the first time or even the fear of doing something new. That's fantastic and allows the child to slowly, but surely, develop a healthy appreciation and respect for the ocean and Mother Nature. When accepting younger kids and all kids, we know that you know your child best and we trust your judgment when sending your child to any of our programs.

• Is it possible to learn to surf after one surf lesson?

  Surfing takes time to master and even gaining proficiency takes time. Much depends on your age, your health, and your prior relationship with Mother Nature and the ocean. During a 2-hour session, we aim to give you the tools to be able to continue to paddle out on your own. We don't discourage additional lessons and actually encourage you to book more lessons. • What if it rains?

  Rain doesn't discourage us at all. Thunderstorms do. In the event of rain or thunderstorms in the forecast for your morning with us, we will try to make a call and notify you by email by 8PM the night before. That email may just say that we will make a decision by 7AM the next morning. If we need to cancel your lesson for weather related circumstances, we will simply make it up for another day.
